Managing Principal & Chief Investment Officer
Jerry Hollifield has a business career that spans more than 30 years. He has been involved in the acquisition, development, financing and management of over $400 million in real estate. In addition, he has been involved in more than 40 Merger and Acquisition transactions with total value exceeding $600 million.
As a longtime senior financial executive, Mr. Hollifield honed a reputation as a multi-disciplined leader with mix of financial management proficiencies that work together to produce sustainable bottom-line results. Mr. Hollifield has exhibited a history of delivering both productivity and profitability gains through proficiency in financial analysis and management, debt management and restructuring, technology implementation, expense control, budget administration and strategic capital expenditures.
He has been Chief Financial Officer of Modern Automotive Network since 2011. Prior to that, Mr. Hollifield held senior positions at Hendrick Automotive Group, Glenayre Electronics, The Hearst Corporation and Bank of America.
Mr. Hollifield holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
David Shelton is a real estate and management consultant with heavy emphasis on process. He has an extensive career in management and leadership, most notably as former senior executive in charge of real estate, engineering, construction, and property management for Lowe’s Companies, Inc.
He led all phases of development and maintenance for more than 150 million square feet of retail space with capital expenditures in excess of $3 billion per year. In various stages, at any given time, as many as 1,000 projects were in the pipeline of development, necessitating effective leadership in people, process, capital management, permitting and schedules.
Mr. Shelton supports many community and civic organizations and has served on various public and private boards, now concentrating on health care and education.
He is a member of the Board of Visitors for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina, and is president of the advisory board for the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine. He also is president of The Health Foundation, Inc. in Wilkes County, North Carolina, and is a board member and past chair for the board of Berea College in Kentucky.
Mr. Shelton’s educational background is in mathematics and education/business administration. He earned an undergraduate degree from Berea College and masters and doctoral degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Jennifer McLean has served in various Chief Financial Officer roles throughout her extensive career, having been involved in the financial oversight for every asset class throughout many major metropolitan markets of the United States. Over the course of her career, Ms. McLean has managed in excess of 20,000 residential units and 100 million square feet of property and has raised in excess of $5 billion in debt and equity for various commercial and residential investments. She prides herself on her ability to focus on new avenues to source capital inclusive of corporate level debt, foreign instruments and crowd funding.
Ms. McLean holds dual bachelor’s degrees in accounting and international studies/economics from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in finance from Wayne State University. Ms. McLean is a member of several professional organizations including the National Apartment Association (NAA), the New York Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSCPA), and WX Women Executives in Real Estate.
Ms. McLean has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including being a past finalist for the Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur of the Year award, being named to Crain’s Detroit Business “40 under 40” list, being recognized nationally as one of the most influential women in commercial real estate, and most recently one of New York’s Power Women. She has held past board positions with the Residential Real Estate Advisory Board of Virginia Tech University and with the Advisory Board for Sidestarter Ventures.
